Shah Rukh Khan's Faces renovation concerns for Mannat; activist asks to PAUSE WORK

Shah Rukh Khan's iconic Mumbai mansion, Mannat, is set for a summer revamp, but the project has hit a roadblock. An activist has raised concerns about potential violations in the renovation plan, prompting a request for the National Green Tribunal (NGT) to intervene and put the work on hold.

Reports suggest that Shah Rukh Khan and his family will temporarily move out while the renovations take place. However, activist Santosh Daundkar has approached the NGT, alleging that the necessary Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearance hasn't been obtained. This is crucial because Mannat is a Grade III heritage structure, meaning any changes require proper permissions.

The proposed renovations at Mannat are ambitious, with reports suggesting Shah Rukh Khan plans to add two floors to his already six-storey bungalow. Additionally, it's alleged that he converted twelve 1-BHK flats originally intended for affordable housing into a single family residence.

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has requested proof from activist Santosh Daundkar to substantiate his claims of violations. Judicial Member Dinesh Kumar Singh and Expert Member Vijay Kulkarni have stated that if Daundkar can't provide evidence within four weeks demonstrating any wrongdoing by Shah Rukh Khan or the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA), the appeal could be dismissed. The NGT will revisit the case on April 23rd.
