Shagun Pandey on his new show Saru: 'I hope people enjoy watching Ved and Saru'

In India, many young people from small towns dream of a better life. Whether it's through education, sports, or the arts, they hope to achieve something big. But when they move to big cities, they often face unexpected struggles that test their strength and determination.

Zee TV, known for its powerful and relatable stories, is all set to launch a new show titled Saru. The show follows the journey of a small-town girl who dares to dream beyond her village life. Saru loves her hometown deeply, but with no opportunities to continue her higher education there, she is forced to step out of her comfort zone. One of her biggest challenges is convincing her mother, who strongly opposes the idea of her leaving home.

The lead role of Saru will be played by talented actor Mohak Matkar, while Anushka Merchande will portray Anika, the show's main antagonist. Joining them is actor Shagun Pandey, who has been cast as the male lead Ved Birla. Ved is a well-respected, kind-hearted, and principled man who works as a lecturer at a Mumbai college. He is admired for his discipline, intelligence, and strong sense of justice. He shares a warm bond with his bhabhi (sister-in-law) and is known for always standing by his loved ones, no matter how difficult the situation.
