Recently, Salman's former girlfriend, actor-turned-women’s rights activist Somy Ali, took to social media with an unusual request. Somy, who has been residing in the United States since leaving Mumbai in 1999, addressed Bishnoi directly, asking for a Zoom call while he is incarcerated at Sabarmati Central Jail. In a long Instagram post, she appealed to Bishnoi, saying she had heard he was conducting Zoom calls from jail and expressed her desire to have a conversation with him.

Somy’s message was both surprising and intriguing. In her post, she wrote, "Namaste, Lawrence bhai, I’ve heard that you’ve been making Zoom calls from jail. I’d like to talk to you about a few things. Please let me know how that can be arranged." She further mentioned that she wants to visit his temple in Rajasthan for prayers but would prefer to have their conversation first. Somy hinted that the discussion would benefit Bishnoi and requested his mobile number so that he could proceed with the call.

Somy Ali and Salman Khan shared a romantic relationship in the 1990s before parting ways in 1999. While their relationship reportedly had its challenges, Somy has often defended the actor over the years. In the past, she had made public appeals to the Bishnoi community, urging them to forgive Salman for the Blackbuck case, emphasizing that taking someone's life is never the answer. Somy also expressed her faith in the Indian judicial system, hoping that Bishnoi would seek justice through legal means rather than violence.
