Speaking to Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbacchiya for their podcast, the actress, reveals going through anxiety, depression and 'every possible suffering' as a teenager due to her 'wrong choices.' ''I have gone through extreme lows in my life, i have been out of work for years, two years. I have gone through anxiety, I have gone through depression, I have gone through every possible suffering as a teenager, I have made wrong choices in my life but when I reflect and look back, I realise those failiures have now become learning lessons for me. Maine itna paisa udaya, investments kuch nahi kiya. I think Abhinav ke mere life mein aane ke baad maine investments kya hoti hai wo jaani hai aur woh sikha hai. Matlab maine honestly sikhi hai, I have studied them,'' Rubina reveals.
The actress then reveals earning a 'lot of money' with her first show 'Choti Bahu' and yet being unable to save a single penny. She says, ''Imagine my first show was my claim to fame and at that time I earned a lot of money, 2008-2009, 10, maine bahut paise kamaye hai. Us time mera show top pe tha and maine bahut paise kamaye hai but un paiso ka mujhe P bhi nahi pata. Maine uda diya sab. Logo ne bola ye bhi kharidna chaiye, wo bhi kharidna chaiye, ye gaadi bhi honi chaiye, maine kaha theek hai. Sab kiya hai maine life mein.''

She also reveals that she is the first millionaire of her family, however, the journey to being one has not been easy.
''Pichle 10 saal mein maine Mumbai mein kabhi invest nahi kiya kyun ki usse pehle jab apna pehla ghar kharida tha, jab apni pehni property investment ki thi, it went into wrong hands. Matlab interior wagerah main sab bana chuki thi and within less than 90 days I had to move in and the guy, where the money was all invested and everything, went absconding. Usko 3 saal lage dhundne mein, khojne mein, paise nikaal ne mein, wo wapas kabhi nahi aaya hai. Mera pehla ghar jo maine kharida tha, wo ghar bhi gaya,'' shares Rubina.
The actress then reveals working for 32 hours straight and being admitted to the hospital most of the times to have earned the money that she had invested. ''Main 3 din shoot karti thi, fourth day sidha Kokilaben hoti thi. My producer used to come, sign and take me back on the sets. So I have really worked hard, I have done stupid things in my life, I have really been naive. I have been ignorant but un sab cheezo ne mujhe itne achhe lessons sikhaye hai, I have been grateful to all of them,'' Dilaik adds.
