Shah Rukh Khan and Rohit Shetty, the dynamic duo who had previously delivered a cinematic masterpiece in the form of "Chennai Express," unfortunately failed to recapture the same box office magic with their subsequent collaboration, "Dilwale." Since then, persistent rumors have swirled, suggesting a potential fallout between the renowned actor and the acclaimed filmmaker. However, Rohit Shetty has now decisively put these speculations to rest.
During a candid and open conversation with Komal Nahta on the insightful Game Changers podcast, Rohit directly addressed the swirling rumors, unequivocally stating, "Nahi aisa kuch nahi," effectively dismissing any notion of a rift between him and Shah Rukh Khan.
Ek respect hai humare beech me aur Dilwale ke baad ye hua ki immediately phir humne humare khud ki production house kholi. Humne decide kiya ki hum khud ki filmein banayenge. Agar loss bhi ho to humara ho, jabki loss nahi hua tha
- Rohit Shetty
Despite the underwhelming domestic response to "Dilwale," Rohit clarified that the film was a major success overseas. It's worth noting that the film was produced by Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan under their banner, Red Chillies Entertainment.
Beyond his professional collaborations, Rohit also shared insights into the strong friendships he's built within the industry. He revealed a deep bond with Ajay Devgn, whom he considers an elder brother, and has grown close to actors like Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. Praising Deepika's dedication, Rohit recalled that she shot the final schedule of "Singham Again" while she was four months pregnant. "Relations like these are rarely made," he added.
While Rohit Shetty is busy directing "Singham Again," the next installment in his cop universe featuring a star-studded cast, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for his next film, "King." This project marks a special moment as it will see Shah Rukh sharing the screen with his daughter Suhana Khan for the first time. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film also boasts a talented cast including Abhishek Bachchan and Abhay Verma in key roles.
