Riteish Deshmukh RESPONDS to Salman Khan's comments on industry support: 'Maybe he was right…'

In response to this, Deshmukh chose to highlight Khan's well-known and consistent history of supporting other actors and their work, emphasizing Khan's proactive and generous nature within the industry.

Riteish, discussing the film industry's backing, stated, “People have gone out of their way to be with me. And there are classic examples, right from Salman bhau himself. Right from my first film Lai Bhaari to Ved. When I was launching my new product Imagine Meats, Shah Rukh was there to launch it. So these are relationships that are there, and people have gone out of their way to be for me. So, I have never had that feeling. I know Abhishek Bachchan is just a phone call away for anything. And likewise. Just a phone call, and we are there."

A viral clip from last month, featuring one of Salman's interviews, brought back discussions about Bollywood's selective support. During an interview with Bollywood Bubble, the host mentioned that the Hindi film industry had largely remained silent about "Sikandar," even though Salman often promotes films of his colleagues and friends. Reacting to this, Salman said, “Unko aisa lagta hoga ki zaroorat nahin padti mujhe. (Maybe they think that I don’t need their support.)" However, he quickly added, “But, sabko zaroorat padti hai. (Everybody needs support, including me.)"
