Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal Reveal Why They're Keeping Daughter Zuneyra Away From Paparazzi

Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal recently discussed their journey into parenthood and the changes it has brought to their lives. The couple, who welcomed their daughter Zuneyra six months ago, was in Delhi for the first time without her. Zuneyra stayed back in Mumbai with her grandparents. The couple initially planned to bring their daughter to Delhi but decided against it due to the weather and pollution. “As a Delhite, it breaks my heart,” Richa said, adding, “When I was studying here, the AQI was not even an issue. It was so green, and the route to my school in Lodhi Road was beautiful. Delhiites have to take concrete steps (to improve the situation).”

Parenting has been a life-changing experience for the couple, with both admitting that their perspective on cinema and storytelling has evolved since becoming parents. Ali shared, “It’s a whole new universe in our lives. Obviously, the way we see and perceive cinema and storytelling has shifted a little.” Richa echoed this sentiment and mentioned that they were prepared for the challenges. “It’s nice and peaceful. We have a great nanny and a great support system. Ali’s father and my mother are both there to support us,” she said.

One of the most important decisions they've made as parents is keeping Zuneyra away from the paparazzi. They explained their decision in an exclusive chat.

“Soon to pata nahi but I would never want her to be clicked,” Ali added, “At least until she is capable of making those choices for herself. We don’t know how she will feel when she grows up. Kya pata humein hi gaaliyan padegi (laughs).”

Both Richa and Ali expressed their satisfaction with how they've shared responsibilities as parents. “I am surprised at how equal it has turned out for us, and I am so glad. It allows me a great deal of relief,” Richa said. Ali, enthusiastic about their parenting partnership, added, “Game on man!”

On the professional front, Richa is set to appear in the upcoming film Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai, alongside Pankaj Tripathi and Shriya Pilgaonkar. Ali, on the other hand, is working on multiple exciting projects, including Metro... In Dino, Rakht Brahmand, Lahore 1947, and Thug Life. Both actors continue to make strides in their careers while balancing their new role as parents.
