Ranveer Singh faces another setback as 'Shaktimaan' is reportedly shelved

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has reportedly faced another setback as his much-anticipated superhero project Shaktimaan has been shelved. The news comes amid recent reports about his wife Deepika Padukone exiting Prabhas’s Kalki 2898 AD and Spirit, keeping the media abuzz with speculation.

According to Deccan Chronicle, the film, an adaptation of the iconic 1990s TV show starring Mukesh Khanna, was reportedly halted due to unresolved creative differences and production challenges. The project, which was speculated to be directed by Basil Joseph, failed to move forward despite initial excitement and announcements.

A source close to the production revealed the difficulties of bringing Shaktimaan to the big screen. “The project consumed two years of his life and left him vowing to stay away from Hindi cinema,” the source said, citing budget overruns, creative disagreements, and roadblocks as key factors behind the shelving. If confirmed, this marks the third major Ranveer Singh film to be shelved in recent years. He was previously linked to Baiju Bawra and Rakshasa, but no updates have emerged regarding those projects.

While Shaktimaan will not proceed, Ranveer still has a few films lined up. He is awaiting the release of Aditya Dhar’s Durandhar and is also involved in Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3, both of which are currently in production or post-production stages.
