Raid 2 Box Office Collection Day 2: Ajay Devgn’s Film Crosses 30 Crore Mark, Maintains Strong Hold

Ajay Devgn’s latest action drama Raid 2, which hit the theatres this Friday, is holding steady at the box office. The film, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, also stars Riteish Deshmukh and Vaani Kapoor in key roles. As per reports from Sacnilk.com, the sequel to the 2018 hit Raid managed to cross the Rs 30 crore mark within just two days, despite seeing a slight dip in earnings on day two.

According to early estimates, Raid 2 earned Rs 11.50 crore on its second day, a noticeable drop from its opening day collection of Rs 19.25 crore. This brings the film’s total to Rs 30.75 crore in India. With the weekend still on, trade experts believe the film could touch or cross the Rs 50 crore mark by Sunday if the current pace continues.

The film recorded a 13.73% Hindi occupancy overall on Friday. While morning shows began on a slower note with 7.13% occupancy, afternoon shows picked up to 16.08%. Evening shows fared slightly better with 17.99%, indicating positive word-of-mouth and fan interest.

Raid 2 brings back Ajay Devgn as IRS officer Amay Patnaik, known for his fearless raids against corruption. This time, the story focuses on a high-profile raid on the property of Dada Manohar Bhai, played by Riteish Deshmukh. Inspired by true events, the film follows the same high-stakes thrill and real-life drama formula that made its predecessor a success.

Speaking about his role as the villain, Riteish Deshmukh told ANI, “It is not that I have ever thought that I have to play the role of an antagonist or do films. That depends on the film. There were at least 10-12 films in between to which I said no, in which there was the role of an antagonist because I did not like that story.”

With gripping performances, a patriotic theme, and mass appeal, Raid 2 seems to be striking a chord with audiences across the country. All eyes are now on its weekend performance to see if it can maintain the same momentum.
