Rahat goes 'bald' just for a scene!!

The star cast and the entire unit of Ratna Sinha's Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na were engrossed in readying themselves for the marriage sequence of Swayam and Aastha when they got the news that Vijay Kashyap who plays Aastha's father will not be able to make it to the sets that day, owing to a theater workshop.

The unit members arranged for a duplicate to stand in for the actor, but the replacement was not justified, as the lad was taller. Since it was the very important shaadi sequence, they could neither cancel the shoot nor wait long for another person to fill up.

‘Time and tide waits for no man’ and this is exactly what Rahat Ali Khan, Creative Supervisor of Babul gauged instantly!! The very next moment he called for a barber, and took a decision to go bald so that he could stand in place of Vijay Kashyap. Talking about the spontaneous decision of his is Rahat, “We could not delay the shoot as it was a very important sequence. The guy who was brought in as the duplicate did not look resemble the actor at all; so to maintain the creative standards, I took a quick decision, called for a barber, went bald and within few minutes, the stage was set to shoot the whole sequence”.

When asked whether he regrets today to have gone bald just for a scene, Rahat grins and says “Not at all!! Actually I was very much praised by my producer, unit members and actors too for my spontaneous decision just to proceed with the shoot scheduled. So no regrets at all!!”.

This was indeed a great display of responsibility towards work, Rahatji!!
