Currently seen anchoring 'Crime Patrol' on Sony TV, Annup Sonii has recently taken up Big Magic's comedy show 'Ji Sirji', which focuses on the relationship between bosses and their subordinates.

Portraying an unreasonable boss with an obsessive compulsive disorder across professions, Tellybuzz talks to Annup about his stint on the comedy show.

Reasoning on why he chose to take up a comedy show, given the fact that he has been established as a serious on-screen personality, the veteran actor averred, "I took up this show mainly because it is under the banner of Reliance Broadcast Network. Also it was the kind of script, I was looking to do in comedy. Secondly this concept is novel and it is an on-going show. Each episode is different from the other and I get a chance to project myself in a different way every time."

Elaborating on taking up a comedy show after a long period Annup added, "In these 18 years of my career I have done comedy shows like 'Comedy Circus 3 - Teen Ka Tadka' and some of its seasons too. I am returning to comedy after a long time and it is time, I give a break to my image as a serious character. I had a lot of fun shooting and I feel engaging in comedy is one of the best ways to explore acting ability."

Juggling between 2 shows, 'Crime Patrol' and 'Ji Sirji' which are placed across different genres, Annup mentioned of how he will work stress free as 'Ji Sirji' is a bi-weekly show and requires him to shoot for a day in a week. He also expressed his love for hosting 'Crime Patrol'.

He shared, "Crime Patrol is not just a show, which I anchor. I have a personal connect with it. It will always be a part of me, till the show is on-air."
