One of the names that we never expected to see in the Bigg Boss house was that of actor Karanvir Bohra. Known until now as the dutiful husband to wife Teejay Sidhu and now as the doting daddy to twin daughters Bella and Vienna, the actor has an established reputation of being a family man through and through. So we were kind of left surprised when we got confirmation on this piece of news that the actor, who was last seen in Naagin 2, was going to enter the Bigg Boss Season 12 house.

And we sat down to grill the actor on the same.

So how did Bigg Boss happen?

Well it has been offered to me every year since it started and what's meant to happen will always happen at the right time. And this year, it was meant to be!

Earlier in an interview with us, you told us that even though you were the only actor to get approached for all the seasons of bigg boss, you are not doing it. And here you are.. all set to enter India's top most reality show.

We've had fasting as a part of our culture for a long time. And the reason fasting had really started was to test one's limits, be able to sustain without some of the basic necessities like food and water. Over time the line between a need and a want has blurred and today our necessities are mobile phones, luxury and what not. For me Bigg Boss is a fast, its an internal journey which will be testing my limits as well as helping me somewhere grow.  Its also quite a challenge to be away from my family, especially my daughters.

Why choose Bigg boss now? What I mean is you will be away from Teejay and your two cute angels for a long time.

Well I am an actor by profession and each profession has its pros and cons. As an actor, sometimes I shoot for a daily show 12 to 14 hours a day and come home by the time they've already gone off to sleep. Being away from them for months is not going to be easy, but I am sure someday as my daughters grow up, they will be proud of their father and the challenges he's taken on in his career.

This time, the whole comcept is based on 'vichitra jodis'. If given a choice, what kind of a partner would you like to be paired with? What qualities would you want to see in your partner?

I think for me someone who is loyal would be ideal, because we are entering a house where loyalties change by the second. Transparency, loyalty as well as a good heart really matter to me. The rest can all be worked upon.

If there was one friend you could take as you accomplice who would that be?

Honestly, it would have to be my wife Teejay. She knows me in and out and there's no greater support than Teejay for me. However, our girls need her and hence that is out of the question.

Bigg Boss is all about mental endurance more than physical. Also, it is a game that will truly expose the kind of person you are in real life. Considering the fact that 'image' is the most important thing for an actor, are you ready to bare all of your emotions on screen?

Big Boss tests your limits, it makes you vulnerable to another level. Of course its a risk as an actor but only if there's anything to hide. I feel that my audience already knows me, they have seen my journey from a single man to a father today. And no actor is perfect, no human being is perfect. The flaws may come out, but I am one of those who doesn't shy away from saying sorry and learning from my own mistakes as well.

What kind of a change do you see/expect once you're out of the Bigg Boss house?

I am hoping to have an enriching internal journey. There's no prediction of where that journey will lead me, but yes one of growth I hope.

Any secret mantras that you are practicing to remain calm in the 'mad house' that the Bigg Boss house is known to be?

Close my eyes and just remember that I am going to be going home to my wife and daughters. At the end of the day, everything I do, it is for them.

Any of your friends who have dabbled in the house previously, given you tips?

Honestly, not really! Each season is different, the equations in the house are different, the inmates are different. I think it is best to go in with a clean slate and just be true to yourself.

Your favourite Bigg Boss Season so far?

I've loved them all as each has had its own adrenaline rushes.

Your favourite Bigg Boss contestant so far?

It would be unfair to name a few as each has had a brilliant game and played so well inside. It is an extremely challenging show and only those who have been locked inside know what they've been through.

Your favourite Bigg Boss host?

Always and always Salman Bhai!

Any message for your fandom out here?

Keep supporting, don't be nasty and let's rock it!

You have actresses Neha Pendse and Dipika Kakkar from the Tinsel Town for company in the Bigg Boss house. How do you feel about having people from the same fraternity in the house?

It is great because we have something to connect on, common people we know and hence having people from the same fraternity just adds to the comfort.

Well, there sure is a long way to go, isn't it?

I really wish Karanvir Bohra hadn't taken up BB. I really like him and while I don't watch this show, it looks like most participants have only come out in negative light. Regardless, this is a good interview. All the best to him, I really hope dignity is maintained.
