Priyanka, who played the fiery Sweety Bhope in the Vishal Bhardwaj directorial, revealed that she was initially hesitant about the role since the part had only “about eight scenes.” But Bhardwaj personally flew down to meet her while she was shooting Dostana in Miami and convinced her that Sweety would turn out to be far more than what was written on paper. “Trust me,” he had told her and she did. The result was one of Priyanka’s most memorable performances, which fans still fondly remember.

Looking back, the actor expressed her deep admiration for Bhardwaj, crediting him for teaching her how to research, prepare, and then completely surrender to a character. She also showered praise on Shahid Kapoor, who pulled off a double role with remarkable ease, and on co-star Amol Gupte for leaving an unforgettable impression. Priyanka added that working on Kaminey also led to her collaboration with Bhardwaj again on 7 Khoon Maaf, a film he had promised her as a thank you for taking on Sweety.

For fans, this nostalgic trip down memory lane was bittersweet. While they loved seeing Priyanka revisit one of her most iconic roles, it also reminded them that she has been away from Hindi cinema for far too long.

Thankfully, the wait might not be much longer. Priyanka is all set to headline SS Rajamouli’s ambitious next, tentatively titled SSMB29, alongside Mahesh Babu. The film is already being touted as a massive pan-India spectacle, and fans are buzzing with excitement to see PeeCee back on the big screen in India.
