Priyadarshan 'Hurt' Feeling Ayushmann Khurrana & Kartik Aaryan Consider Him 'Outdated'

It is no surprise that the lockdown has led to the delays of multiple films and given the fact that the summer schedule is affected, the initially scheduled films during monsoon will face a further delay too.

On them is Hungama 2, which is not only a sequel to the cult hit comedy Hungama from years ago but also marks the return of the legendary Priyadarshan to Hindi cinema after seven long years, his last being Rangrezz.

However, in a recent interview, he opened up on how Hungama 2 was initially offered to actors like Kartik Aaryan, Sidharth Malhotra and Ayushmann Khurrana before Meezaan Jaffrey was finalized. The former mentioned actors refused to do the film.

In a quote to Iwmbuzz, Priyadarshan said, “I didn’t go directly to meet them but my concept was narrated to a lot of actors like Ayushmann Khurrana, Kartik Aaryan and Siddharth Malhotra. They all refused to do the film. Now, I am working with Meezaan. They all refused because maybe they thought I am an outdated director, because I was out of the Hindi film industry for five years.”
