Actor Parag Tyagi recently found himself at the center of online criticism after a video surfaced of him walking his dog Simba, just a day after the sudden demise of his wife, Shefali Jariwala. Many on social media questioned his behavior, expecting a more outward display of mourning. However, his close friend and former Bigg Boss 13 co-contestant, Paras Chhabra, stepped in to clarify the situation.

Shefali tragically passed away on June 27, 2025, reportedly due to cardiac arrest. The day after her death, Parag was seen walking their pet dog Simba—an action that drew sharp reactions from the public. In response, Paras explained that Simba wasn’t just a pet to Parag and Shefali, but a beloved member of their family. With Shefali no longer around, Parag felt an even stronger bond with Simba, who is both elderly and partially blind.

Paras further shared that the walk was not an act of indifference but a coping mechanism. He emphasized that the sudden loss had created a deep emotional vacuum, and taking Simba out was a way for Parag to maintain a sense of routine amid the heartbreak. Simba, too, was grieving and feeling the absence of Shefali. “Dogs are extremely intuitive—they can sense when something is wrong,” Paras said.

He urged the public to show compassion and understand that everyone processes grief differently. Parag wasn’t only mourning his wife, but also trying to support Simba, who now needs extra care and attention. Paras added that Parag’s actions stemmed from love and responsibility, not a lack of emotion.

Shefali’s unexpected death shook the entertainment industry. Known popularly as the “Kaanta Laga Girl,” she earned fame through music videos and reality shows such as Nach Baliye and Bigg Boss 13. Reports suggest her passing was linked to complications from medication and anti-aging treatments taken while fasting.

As social media quickly turned to judgment, Paras Chhabra’s heartfelt defense reminded everyone of the many forms grief can take. Far from being callous, Parag Tyagi’s walk with Simba was a quiet moment of healing and connection during an incredibly painful time.
