Parag Tyagi kisses Shefali Jariwala one last time before her cremation; Rashami, Mahira, Arti break down

Reality show star and actor Shefali Jariwala, best known for Kaanta Laga and her participation in Bigg Boss 13, was laid to rest in Mumbai after her sudden demise at the age of 42. According to initial reports, she suffered a cardiac arrest late night on June 27. She was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital by her husband Parag Tyagi and others but was declared brought dead on arrival. A post-mortem was conducted, though the final cause of death is still awaited.

A heart-wrenching video from the last rites showed Parag gently kissing Shefali’s forehead and caressing her face as he bid farewell. Her mother was also seen collapsing in grief beside her daughter’s mortal remains. The visuals have deeply moved fans and the industry alike.

Actor Hindustani Bhau, who shared a sibling-like bond with Shefali since Bigg Boss 13, was seen helping Parag carry Shefali’s body, wrapped in cloth. He later spoke to ANI, breaking down on camera. “I called her ‘Chupdi’. She was like my sister. She had spent ?25 lakh recently on her father’s surgery and now he’s carrying his daughter’s bier. People say it was a heart attack, but she never had a weak heart.”

Bhau further recalled how Shefali had looked after him during tough times in the reality show. “She loved celebrating Raksha Bandhan with me. I used to surprise her. So many memories… That’s why my eyes are wet today,” he said, holding back tears.

Meanwhile, several friends from the television and music industry gathered at her residence for the final farewell. Among them were Rashami Desai, Mahira Sharma, Arti Singh, and singer Sunidhi Chauhan. All were seen visibly upset, with Rashami and Mahira reportedly crying inconsolably.

Shehnaaz Gill, Shefali’s fellow Bigg Boss 13 housemate, arrived late for the final rites. She maintained silence until her visit, clearly shaken by the sudden loss. Tributes also poured in online, including one from actor Aly Goni, who wrote, “Shocked and saddened. Life is unpredictable. Rest in peace, Shefali.”

Shefali’s passing has revived memories of late actor Sidharth Shukla, who also died young and shared a past with her. For many fans, it’s another painful reminder of how unpredictable life can be.
