Pakistani actors Fawad Khan and Hania Aamir REACT to Pahalgam attack, express grief over innocent lives lost

The recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, has left a deep scar on the hearts of many. In a horrifying incident, twenty-six innocent people, including locals, tourists, and even some foreign nationals, lost their lives. The brutality of the attack has shaken not just India but also touched emotions across the subcontinent. Among the voices that stood out during this difficult time was that of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir and actor Fawad Khan.

On Wednesday evening, Hania Aamir shared a powerful message through her Instagram story. She reposted a news update originally shared by journalist Faye D’Souza, which mentioned the heartbreaking details of the attack. Alongside it, Hania expressed her grief in words that struck an emotional chord with people across borders.

She wrote, “Tragedy anywhere is a tragedy for all of us. My heart is with the innocent lives affected by the recent events. In pain, in grief, and in hope—we are one.”

She continued, “When innocent lives are lost, the pain is not theirs alone—it belongs to all. No matter where we come from, grief speaks the same language. May we choose humanity, always.”

Her words quickly went viral and were praised widely, especially in India, where the incident has left families shattered and the nation in mourning.

Not just Hania, but Pakistani actor Fawad Khan also expressed his condolences. Taking to his Instagram story, he wrote: “Deeply saddened to hear the news of the heinous attack in Pahalgam. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this horrifying incident, and we pray for strength and healing for their families in this difficult time.”

Fawad’s message came at a time when tensions between the two countries are once again rising, especially due to this attack. His upcoming film Abir Gulaal, in which he stars alongside Indian actress Vaani Kapoor, has now come under fire. Indian filmmaker Ashoke Pandit strongly criticised Indian artists and cricketers for collaborating with Pakistani talent.

He said, “People from our country go to London and Dubai to perform with Pakistani artists, same with cricket. Bol do nahi khelna cricket! Woh bandook se maar rahe hain, aur hum bat ball ke saath khel rahe hain unke saath.” He even warned that if such engagements continue, public anger could turn violent: “Public naraaz hai, aur bahar nikalke maaregi cricketers, artists, aur singers ko.”

Supporting this view, BN Tiwari, the President of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), also took a firm stand. He declared, “We will not let Abir Gulaal release in India. Action will be taken against the makers (if they release the film).” These statements show how sensitive and complex the situation has become in the current political and emotional atmosphere.

Despite the backlash and growing tensions, Hania Aamir’s post stood out for its compassionate tone. At a time when anger and blame dominate headlines, her message served as a reminder that empathy and shared grief can still connect people beyond national lines.

Before Hania and Fawad, many top Bollywood celebrities had also spoken about the incident. Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Akshay Kumar had earlier taken to social media to condemn the attack and express their solidarity with the victims' families.

Meanwhile, Hania continues to stay in the spotlight for her upcoming projects. She will soon be seen in Sardaar Ji 3, a Punjabi film featuring Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa. She’s also working on a Pakistani television drama alongside Bilal Abbas Khan.

While protests, candle marches, and emotional tributes continue across India, voices like Hania’s and Fawad’s bring a softer light to the moment. They serve as a reminder that humanity doesn’t stop at borders—and that even in the darkest of times, there are people who choose compassion over conflict.
