India is celebrating a moment of national pride as the country honors its courageous soldiers for the successful execution of Operation Sdoor—a significant counter-terrorism mission that struck at the heart of terror networks operating across Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK). The well-coordinated offensive took place around midnight on May 7 and served as a powerful and strategic response to the devastating Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 innocent lives on April 22.

Operation Sindoor saw the Indian Armed Forces launch precision strikes on nine terror-linked locations associated with banned extremist outfits such as Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Hizbul Mujahideen. The operation focused on dismantling entrenched bases used to coordinate and execute attacks on Indian soil. Among the most impactful targets were Bahawalpur and Muridke—known as the operational strongholds of JeM and LeT respectively. Intelligence sources have estimated that each of these major strikes resulted in the neutralization of 25 to 30 terrorists, with the total count of casualties believed to be between 80 and 90.

One of the most symbolic targets in the operation was the Masjid wa Markaz Taiba, regarded as the ideological and logistical headquarters of the Lashkar-e-Taiba. In a move that underscored the gravity and success of the mission, the Indian Army released a video capturing key moments from the operation, accompanied by the bold message: "Justice is served."
