Nicki Minaj Retires from music to have a family; Fans Shocked…

International rapper Nicki Minaj has delivered several chart-topping hits in her career. From dropping jaws with Anaconda to collaborating with stars like David Guetta, Ariana Grande, Maroon 5, BTS and many more the rapper has been a fan favourite.

The 36-year-old singer took social media by storm last night and left her fans disappointed when she announced her retirement from her music career so that she could concentrate on having a family. 

Taking to her official social media handle, Nicki wrote, “I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE”

Nicki Minaj’s announcement of her retirement plans struck the fans like a lightning bolt. The jaw dropping news left the fans disappointed and the comments of the shock soon filed her social media.

This unexpected announcement came just a few weeks after the singer had revealed her plans to marry her boyfriend Kenneth Petty. During an episode of Apple Music show "Queen Radio" last month, Nicki had revealed that they had obtained a marriage license and would be married within 80 days.

As reported by People, Nicki said, “I have to work on my album and I have a lot to focus on that I don't want to do the big wedding now. We'll do the big wedding later.”

Ever since March the rapper has been referring to her boyfriend Kenneth as her husband and currently goes by Mrs. Petty on Twitter. Minaj was criticized when she went public with their relationship in December, largely because Petty is a registered sex offender.

Court documents obtained by TMZ showed that 41-year-old Petty was convicted of first-degree attempted rape when he was 16 years old. New York State's sex offender registry confirms that Petty committed the crime in 1994. His conviction details reveal that he used a "knife/cutting instrument" against his victim, who was also 16.

Petty served almost four years in New York state prison. Later, he was convicted of first-degree manslaughter for shooting a man and served nearly seven additional years in prison. He was released in 2013.
