When asked about the viral clip, Ayaan didn’t shy away from acknowledging the outrage but explained that his mother’s words stemmed from personal experiences and those around her.

“Of course I’m watching everything, I’m seeing everyone who is commenting,” Ayaan began. “Is baat pe main yeh bolna chahunga ki mere mummy ke kuch dost hain industry mein, jo mard hain, who have been attacked in the wrong way. Like ‘he promised to give me work,’ ‘he would do this,’ aur unke upar ilzaam lagaya gaya hai.”

He further explained that Kunickaa, being a lawyer herself, has seen the legal and emotional toll such false allegations can take.

“Wo yeh nahi keh rahi hain ki galti male ki hai ya female ki hai ya rape nahi hote hain. That’s not what she meant. The thing is, jab men ke MeToo ke cases aaye, suddenly sab pe MeToo lagne lag gaya. You also have to see who these people are. Yeh puri industry PR pe chalti hai, to stay relevant. And kuch log hadein paar kar dete hain just to stay relevant. I think she was talking about that.”

“She Draws the Line” – On Boundaries and Awareness

Ayaan also shared how his mother’s intention was more about raising awareness of industry red flags rather than dismissing real incidents of abuse.

“Dusri baat, meri mummy ke saath bhi cheezein hui hain. It’s not like she hasn’t faced anything. But the moment she sees something wrong—she’s clear. She draws the line, ki bhai iske aage na aap mat aiyega.”

He added that Kunickaa was essentially warning people, especially newcomers, not to ignore red flags under the guise of career opportunities.

“Wo bas yeh bol rahi hain ki koi aapko 10:30 ya 11 baje raat ko audition ke liye bulaaye to aap katai mat jaiyega. Because wo audition nahi hone wala. You need to understand how this industry works. If someone calls you to their vanity van after a shot, you need to understand that.”

''She is inspiring newcomers,'' says Ayaan

Responding to criticism that the tone of the interview was dismissive, Ayaan encouraged viewers to see the bigger picture.

“Aap ya to samajh sakte ho ki wo kahan se aa rahi hain, ya aap keh sakte ho ki nahi bhai, main alag perspective se dekhunga. Bohot log us clip ko negatively le rahe hain. But imagine how many models, actresses, newcomers could be inspired by it to realise ki bhai, mere haath mein bhi kuch cheezein hain jo main nahi karungi.”

“Mujhe kisi se zyada hans ke baat karne ki zarurat nahi hai, if I don’t want to. Aapko karni hai, toh kariye. But aap darr ke kuch nahi kar sakte. Kaam kabhi darr ke nahi milta, chahe aap kisi ki bhi daughter ho ya newcomer. Yeh opinion hai shayad unka.”
