Today, on the death anniversary of Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, remembering their iconic relationship, shared a heartfelt tribute on social media. She posted a series of photos, reminiscing about their cherished moments. The legendary actor passed away on April 30, 2020, following a prolonged struggle with leukemia.
Neetu Kapoor shared photos on her Instagram stories, with the caption "Miss you Kapoor sahab." One photo featured Rishi with Raj Bansal, and another showed him with his daughter, granddaughter, and others. Neetu also recently posted a throwback photo from their 1979 engagement, where she and Rishi were smiling.

They first met on the sets of "Zehrela Insaan" in 1970, which didn't go well initially. However, their relationship evolved into a strong friendship and love during the filming of "Kabhie Kabhie" in 1976. They married on January 22, 1980, and later had Riddhima Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor.
After dating for a few years, Neetu and Rishi Kapoor married in 1980, a joyous occasion for the Hindi film industry. They had starred together in several iconic films.
In an interview with Rediff.com, Neetu shared a memory from her engagement days. While filming a stage song for "Yaarana" with Amitabh Bachchan, she was missing Rishi Kapoor and was upset because she couldn't reach him due to phone issues in Calcutta. Seeing her distress, Amitabh Bachchan arranged for her to return to Bombay, promising to handle the song without her.
During an interview on Annu Kapoor’s radio show "Suhaana Safar," Neetu remembered her first encounter with Rishi Kapoor, describing him as both a bully and a brat.
I had a horrible first meeting with Rishi Kapoor. He had a habit of bullying, so he would comment on my make-up and clothes, and I’d feel so angry. He was actually a brat who would bully everyone, and I was very young at that time

She added, “I used to be furious with him. After Bobby became a superhit, Dimple Kapadia got married, and Rishi was left with no other heroine because everyone used to look older than him. I was the only young actress around, and by default, after ‘Rickshawala’, all his movies started coming to me."
