Nayanthara has responded to recent whispers about trouble in her marriage with filmmaker Vignesh Shivan. The actor shared a new Instagram story featuring the two, seemingly putting the speculation to rest.
In the photo, Nayanthara is seen lying over Vignesh, her face turned away from the camera. The casual yet intimate moment signals calm between the couple, who’ve been together publicly and professionally for years.
The post comes amid a wave of online chatter suggesting a split. While neither of them directly addressed the rumours, the picture appears to be a quiet way of setting the record straight. But this wasn’t the only headline involving Nayanthara this week. The actor is also facing a legal dispute connected to her documentary Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale. Distribution company AP International has issued a notice against the makers for using a clip from the Rajinikanth film Chandramukhi without permission. AP International owns the rights and is demanding Rs 5 crore in compensation.

This isn’t the first time the documentary has been pulled into copyright concerns. Earlier, actor Dhanush had reportedly taken legal action over visuals taken from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, produced under his Wunderbar Films banner.
As of now, Nayanthara has not made any official comment on the lawsuits. On the work front, she was last seen in Test, a sports drama that released directly on Netflix. The film, which also stars Siddharth and R Madhavan, received mixed reviews.
Looking ahead, Nayanthara will appear in Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, starring alongside Yash. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film explores a crime cartel set in Goa and will be released in Kannada and English on March 19, 2026. The cast also includes Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, and Huma Qureshi. In addition, Nayanthara is part of several upcoming projects such as Mega157 with Chiranjeevi, Dear Students, Rakkayie, Mookuthi Amman 2, and MMMN (Patriot) starring Mammootty and Mohanlal.
Meanwhile, Vignesh Shivan’s next film Love Insurance Kompany, a sci-fi romantic comedy with Pradeep Ranganathan and Kriti Shetty, is scheduled to release on September 18, 2025. Despite online speculation, the couple seems to be moving ahead—personally and professionally.
