Nach Baliye 9: Madhurima opens up about her fight with Vishal and More!

Star Plus' Nach Baliye 9 may have not quite lived up to the extreme expectations of raking in the numbers but it has still been performing rather decently and also providing entertainment and controversies, week in and week out. The prime contender for the controversy part has been the couple of Madhurima Tuli and Vishal Aaditya Singh. Since day one, the duo has not been shy of showcasing how problematic their relationship was and even more on how difficult it is to work with each other for the show.

Madhurima finally lost her cool on Vishal and went on to throw the mic on his face followed by storming out of the sets. The actress seemingly could take no more and couldn't control her anger as she walked out. This finally led to the couple’s elimination this week. 

India Forums got in touch with Madhurima to know her side of the stories. 

What is the song and theme that you will be performing this week?

The theme for this week’s performances is celebration and we have chosen the festival of Holi for our act. The song that we are performing on is ‘Badri Ki Dulhaniya’. It’s an energetic and peppy song and Sanam’s choreography is very challenging and needs a lot of practice. 

When Urvashi-Anuj got eliminated last week, Urvashi gave a fiery statement in media that this season is more about drama and less about dance. What are your comments about it? 

See, it’s a dance reality show and the markings are also completely dance based. In fact, last week during our elimination round, the judges took 45 minutes to decide who to eliminate. Yes, we are an ex-couple and there are dramatic moments between us, but it’s not just drama, we are also performing. Sometimes, we both behave kiddish but that never affects our performance. Judges are not biased. 

Do you feel the pressure while performing with your ex, as most of the couples left in the competition are present couples? 

Because of the ex-factor, we do get a lot of hate comments on social media. Maybe if we were a present couple it would have been a little easier, but can’t help it. So, I won’t say I’m in pressure, but yes the level of competition is high. 

Do you think the kind of content that you two have been giving in the show is somewhere taking you down? 

See, we are not the kind of people we are coming across on the show. I agree that discussing our private lives like this on reality show is somewhere wrong on our part also because we have entered as a celebrity and washing our dirty laundry in public is not a good thing to do. 

What would you like to comment on the viral video where you can be seen slapping Vishal? 

It was a very personal moment between us and I have no idea how it got leaked on social media. It was shocking how it got viral in no time, I did not want it to happen this way. Whatever happened, happened in the heat of the moment and was too private to be seen by the public. 

When the show was offered to you, did you ever think that things will elevate to this level between the two of you?

Honestly, I thought things will mend after this show. Before signing the show we had a healthy conversation about winning the show and being cordial but things turned out to be completely opposite of what we had expected. A lot of times I got hurt and thought of quitting, but ultimately this is my profession and I love to dance, so there was a dilemma.
