Mohit Malik, who has been part of the television industry for more than a decade, continues to take up varied roles across genres. He has appeared in daily soaps, thrillers and musical dramas, with shows like Doli Armaano Ki and Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala establishing him as a household name. After his most recent outing in Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si, the actor is now moving into fresh territory with two major projects.
One of them is the film version of Mirzapur. Excel Entertainment’s hit series is being adapted for the big screen, and Mohit has joined the cast. To mark his entry, producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar sent him a handwritten note. Sharing the note on social media, Mohit gave a glimpse of their message, which welcomed him to the project and expressed excitement about seeing his performance in the film. The gesture has already drawn attention to his role, though the makers have not yet revealed any details about his character.
Alongside this film, Mohit is also preparing for his next television appearance. He has been signed to play Lord Shiva in Ganesh Kartikey, an upcoming mythological series on Sony TV produced by Peninsula Pictures. Shrenu Parikh has been cast opposite him as Parvati. The show will focus on the tales of Lord Ganesha and Kartikeya while exploring their relationship with Shiva and Parvati. A short teaser has already been released, offering audiences a first look at the project and positioning it as a key addition to the channel’s line-up of mythological programming.

The timing of these announcements highlights how Mohit is moving between very different worlds, on one hand, the crime-driven setting of Mirzapur The Film, and on the other, a traditional mythological drama. It reflects his decision to maintain a presence in both television and film while also experimenting with roles that carry distinct demands.
As work on Mirzapur The Film continues and Ganesh Kartikey readies for its television launch, Mohit Malik finds himself at a point where his projects stretch from the gritty bylanes of a crime saga to the spiritual backdrop of ancient mythology.
