Mohan Babu visits injured journalist post attacking on him; personally apologize to him

Mohan Babu, the renowned Telugu actor, who faced allegations of assaulting a video journalist in a heated dispute, went to see the victim at a hospital in Hyderabad on Sunday. He personally offered his apologies to the journalist and his family. The incident took place on December 10 at the actor's residence in Jalpally, drawing significant public scrutiny and disapproval.

The journalist, Muppidi Ranjith Kumar from TV9, suffered severe injuries, including fractures to his zygomatic bone, in the altercation. He is presently receiving medical care at Yashoda Hospital. Confirming the actor's apology, Mr. Kumar spoke to PTI, “He offered an apology to me, my family, and the entire journalist fraternity."

As per the journalist's complaint, the situation unfolded when he and fellow reporters were reporting on a conflict between Mr. Babu and his younger son Manoj. Reportedly, the actor approached the media forcefully, seized a microphone, and employed offensive language before physically harming Mr. Kumar, causing a head injury.

The attack led to demonstrations from journalist groups in Hyderabad, calling for enhanced safeguards for media staff. On December 13, Mr. Babu released an official public apology, expressing profound remorse for the event. In his declaration, Mr. Babu clarified that the confrontation intensified amid a tumultuous scenario where 30 to 50 "anti-social elements" reportedly invaded his residence with the aim of causing harm.

“Amidst this chaos, the media inadvertently became entangled in the situation. In the process of managing the commotion, one of your journalists was unfortunately injured. I deeply regret the pain and inconvenience caused to him, his family, and the TV9 community," he stated.

Mr. Babu admitted to getting overwhelmed in the heat of the moment and offered a sincere apology to the journalist and the media community.
