Meera Deosthale recently made a shocking statement regarding the non-payment for her work on the show "Vidya" in 2019. The actress has been pursuing this matter for months, contacting the Cine and TV Artistes Association (CINTAA) and filing a police complaint against producer Mahesh Pandey. Still, she has yet to receive her full salary.
According to reports, Meera revealed that the show ended in March 2020, yet she still awaits her pending dues. The production house owes her ?3,78,000. The original amount was around ?8 lakh, and only a portion was cleared after she approached CINTAA in July 2022. She also filed a complaint at Bangur Nagar Police Station in May 2023, but no action has been taken. Producer Mahesh Pandey has now stopped responding to her messages and calls. Additionally, the TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) has not been paid, resulting in penalties.
Mahesh Pandey countered Meera's allegations, claiming that she signed a full and final (FNF) settlement and asserted that he could show the bank statements as proof of payment.
India Forums contacted Meera Deosthale to delve deeper into the issue. She stated, "These are false allegations. He made me sign the FNF document on September 10, 2020, saying that the channel would only release the payment once they received it. He even gave us seven post-dated cheques and repeatedly told us not to deposit them to avoid bouncing. Tell him to show the bank statement if he has cleared the payment. I have all the documents and even the post-dated cheques."
