Salman Khan has faced ongoing threats from the Bishnoi community since being accused of killing two blackbucks during "Hum Saath Saath Hain." The blackbuck, considered sacred by the Bishnois, makes his actions a significant cultural offense, as noted by former MP Jaswant Singh Bishnoi.

In 2018, Lawrence Bishnoi made alarming threats against Salman Khan during a court appearance, intensifying the actor's safety concerns. He claimed "We will kill Salman Khan in Jodhpur. Everyone will know once we take action".

The threatening E-mail

In 2023, Salman Khan's manager received a threatening email tied to an interview where gangster Lawrence Bishnoi demanded an apology from Khan. Bishnoi, referencing the blackbuck poaching case, claimed Khan had humiliated his community and should publicly apologize at their temple, escalating the long-standing feud. In July 2022, Lawrence Bishnoi allegedly sent gangster Sampat Nehra to survey Salman Khan's residence, but the plan was thwarted due to insufficient weaponry.
