Kim Soo-Hyun Case: Late Kim Sae-Ron's manager K breaks his silence after months; says, 'For deceased honour'

It is estimated that a year and a half will go in the Kim Soo-Hyun Vs Garosero case that also involves family of late actress Kim Sae-ron. Now, as per a Naver report late Kim Sae-ron’s manager K has filed a lawsuit against YouTuber Kwon Young-chan for defaming her. The case was filed on June 19, 2025. The manager K has alleged that Kwon Young-chan who claims to be working towards prevention of suicide of young celebrities generated false content to get views on his channel. He dragged in Manager K’s name in a slanderous manner in videos related to the death of actress Kim Sae-ron.

Kwon Young-chan also posted a photo of the manager, who is not a celebrity. In his video, he used terms like “the bastard who sold the child”, “The slave hunter” and “the bastard who caused her death”, and said “K leaked all information”. In short, he alleged that Manager K would sell confidential information about Kim Sae-ron causing her mental and emotional distress. In a more shocking statement, he alleged that Manager K groomed (sexually abused and exploited) Kim Sae-ron and created a rift in her equation with her family members. He had said that Manager K isolated her from her family and turned her into an island.

Manager K said he did not know late Kim Sae-ron so well that he could groom her. He was an employee of Run Entertainment. After the DUI her contract with Gold Medalist ended somewhere in 2023.

“Kim Sae-ron is an actress I met in January 2024 when I signed an exclusive contract with Management Run. I worked hard and supported the deceased, who had difficulty in her entertainment career due to the social controversy caused by her past drunk driving accident (May 18, 2022).”

Manager K also said that Kim Sae-ron had called her family first after the accident. He said he had called an ambulance for late Sae-ron and even informed her mother. But the mother allegedly said she could not come to the hospital. Manager K has accused the actress’ side of lying saying they were not contacted by him. He said he did not wish to drag in the deceased name’s so he kept silent. However, the nature of allegations made him change his decision.

“I have been working as a manager for 20 years. The reason I stayed silent despite groundless allegations during that time was for the deceased’s honour.”

Kwon Young-chan has defended himself saying he raised those questions on his YouTube video as Manager K did not respond to his KakaoTalk messages.
