Kettan Singh extends apology to Karan Johar

In a recent turn of events, comedian and actor Kettan Singh has extended an apology to renowned filmmaker Karan Johar. This comes after Karan Johar took to Instagram to express his disappointment over a TV show promo where he was mimicked in what he deemed as "exceptionally poor taste."

Karan Johar, a stalwart in the Indian film industry, shared his dismay in an Instagram post, where he expressed his sadness over being misrepresented on a supposedly respectable channel. While he refrained from naming the show, the comedian, or the channel directly, many speculated that he was referring to the promo of Madness Machaenge, starring Kettan Singh.

Responding to Karan Johar's criticism, Kettan Singh clarified that his intention was never to hurt Karan Johar and apologized sincerely if his actions had caused any offense. Kettan admitted to being a fan of Karan Johar's work and emphasized that his impersonation was purely for entertainment purposes.

Furthermore, Kettan Singh quoted to Times Now, "I would like to see the reactions of people and Karan sir after watching the episode. I don't want to offend, sir. Many artists don't mimic Karan sir. I used to do it a couple of years ago on The Kapil Sharma Show. I did it for the first time on Madness Machayenge. Apart from my apology, I am not thinking of anything else."

In his Instagram story, Karan Johar wrote, "I was sitting and watching television with my mom... and saw a promo of a reality comedy show on a supposedly respectable channel... a comic was mimicking me in exceptionally poor taste... I expect this from trolls and faceless and nameless people but when your own industry can disrespect someone who has been in the business for over 25 years it speaks volumes about the times we live in... this doesn't even anger me it just makes me sad!"

The controversy stirred by Karan Johar's Instagram post quickly gained traction online, with netizens and industry insiders weighing in on the matter. While some supported Karan Johar's stance and echoed his sentiments about respecting industry veterans, others defended Kettan Singh, citing the nature of comedy and entertainment.
