Katrina Kaif's pregnancy news viral; recap of when the actress spoke about having no father figure as a kid

Katrina Kaif is trending all over as reports of her delivering her first child in October – November is doing the rounds. The actress has made minimum public appearances of late. She was seen in oversized baggy clothes at the airport and few other places. Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal got married in 2021 in a lavish but guarded ceremony in Rajasthan. The actress who entered into Bollywood in the early 2000s was raised by a single mother, Suzanne Turquotte. Her parents separated when she was very young. Katrina Kaif in an old Filmfare interview had spoken about how it was growing up without a father figure. She said it was something she would never like her kids to experience.

On absence of unconditional father figure

She said that every time she went through emotional turmoil she wondered if life would be better with a father figure. Katrina Kaif said she was compelled to reflect that it would be nice to have strongly “fatherly support from a male figure, who loves you unconditionally”.

Katrina Kaif grew up with eight siblings across continents. Her mother was a lawyer. She had also praised her mother for doing her best for all the kids as she raised them single-handedly. Katrina Kaif is very close to her sisters. They were the ones who held the Phoolon Ka Chadar on her wedding in a truly emotional video.

Katrina Kaif has always been a pillar of support for her siblings. She admitted she asked her mother what she thought when she had so many kids, and how did she manage to raise them all alone. Katrina Kaif said, “But in the last few years, what my mom had to say about life, has been much more helpful to me. It bears more weight. Now that you can see things from a distance, you realise it must have been tough for her.” Vicky Kaushal had assured fans that he would share the good news as and when it happens.
