Dhoom Dhaam, starring Yami Gautam and Pratik Gandhi, has received a great response from both audiences and critics. This action-comedy film, released on Netflix, was originally planned with a different cast and title. Recently, the film’s producer, Aditya Dhar, shared some surprising details about its casting in an interview. He revealed that the movie was initially called Raat Baaki and was set to feature Katrina Kaif and Fawad Khan in lead roles. However, the project was eventually shelved.
Back in 2016, Raat Baaki was supposed to be Aditya Dhar’s directorial debut, with an exciting pairing of Katrina and Fawad. The story was the same as Dhoom Dhaam but with slight modifications. Speaking about it, Aditya said, “But we tweaked it a little bit. We made it contemporary and a story of today’s times.”
At that time, the movie was ready to begin production. However, due to political tensions and the ban on Pakistani actors in Bollywood following the Pulwama attack, Raat Baaki never took off. While there were talks of replacing Fawad, the film was ultimately dropped. Aditya then shifted his focus to Uri: The Surgical Strike, which became a massive hit in 2019.

In an earlier interview with Mumbai Mirror, Aditya had revealed, “It was a romcom laced with action and while my office was trying to figure out whom to cast in place of Fawad, I was fascinated by the surgical strikes that took place 11 days later on September 29 and started my research on October 1.”
Another interesting revelation by Aditya Dhar was about Dhoom Dhaam. He shared that Sima Taparia from Indian Matchmaking had filmed a segment for the movie. She was supposed to arrange the match between Pratik Gandhi’s character and Yami Gautam’s. However, this part was edited out in the final cut.
Directed by Rishab Seth, Dhoom Dhaam also features Eijaz Khan, Kavin Dave, Mukul Chadda, Prateik Babbar, Pavitra Sarkar, Garima Yajnik, and Mushtaq Khan in key roles.
