Kapil Sharma Faces Criticism from Surender Sharma Over Pay Issues and Comedy Style

Poet and comedian Surender Sharma recently shared his experiences regarding Kapil Sharma and their disagreements over remuneration. In an interview with Lallantop, Surender explained why he refused to appear on Kapil’s popular comedy show. According to him, the issue arose when he demanded payment for his participation, which Kapil was unwilling to offer.

Surender remarked, “There isn’t any reason for the rift. Kapil has done many shows with me before gaining fame. He invited me to his show, but I asked for remuneration since he was earning well. He told me my appearance would make me more popular. I refused. The producers also contacted me, but I didn’t agree.” Surender emphasized that while Kapil is talented, he depends on others to enhance his comedic acts. “He needs 3-4 people to support his act. He can’t sustain comedy alone,” he added.

The poet also addressed rumors about charging more than his peers for Kavi Sammelans. “That’s not true. Kumar Vishwas earns 25-30 lakhs for three events, and Shailesh Lodha charges 12-13 lakhs. I’ve been asked why I charge less. There was a time I charged more than Gopaldas Neeraj ji,” Surender explained.

During the interview, Surender commented on the late comedian Raju Srivastava. He attributed Raju’s death to his lifestyle, saying, “Raju had 6-7 stents but continued gymming. Once you have stents, you must be cautious with your health.”

Kapil Sharma has faced criticism recently, including from Mukesh Khanna, who called his show indecent and overly reliant on double-meaning jokes. Mukesh remarked, “The show thrives on inappropriate humor. While others laugh, I don’t find it appropriate.” Surender’s candid remarks have added to the ongoing discussions about Kapil Sharma and his show.
