Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut, who is also contesting as a BJP candidate from Himachal Pradesh's Mandi constituency, drew parallels between the film industry and politics during a rally in Mandi on Friday. Addressing the public gathering, she acknowledged the possibility of making mistakes but emphasized that unlike in the film industry, she won't face severe consequences in politics.
Ranaut, while listing the names of key BJP leaders, admitted that it might take her some time to remember everyone's names.
Ranaut said it would take time for her to remember the names of all the party leaders.
“Lekin mai aapki beti hun, behan hun to mujhe pata hai mai yahan par choti-moti galtiyan kar skti hun. Ye koi film industry nahi hai ki mujhe suli par chada diya jayega. [I am your daughter and sister, so I know that I can make small mistakes here. This isn’t a film industry that I will be crucified.}"
The actor, who held a roadshow in Mandi, has been nominated by the BJP to contest in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 from the Mandi seat.
Speaking to news agency PTI, Ranaut expressed her commitment to serve, likening her dedication to her work in films to her new role in politics. She said, "In films as well, I worked with dedication. Here (Mandi) too, I have been given the responsibility to serve. I am like this in real life. I have officially joined BJP now but people have been saying since long that she is of BJP."
