'Jigra': Alia Bhatt & Vedang Raina unveil striking look in new posters; fans can't wait

Bollywood is buzzing with excitement as Alia Bhatt stuns fans with her intense look in the newly released poster for her upcoming film, Jigra. Directed by Vasan Bala, Jigra promises to be a gripping cinematic experience, with Alia in a fierce and rugged avatar. The film is set to release on October 11, 2024, and marks Alia’s first on-screen collaboration with the acclaimed filmmaker.

The latest poster, revealed by Alia on her social media, showcases the actress in a gritty survival mode, dressed in dark pants and a soiled shirt, layered with a practical survival vest. Armed with a hammer and other tools, Alia’s character seems ready for an intense journey, gazing into the distance with a look of surprise. The tagline she shared, “Kahaani bahut lambi hai aur bhai ke paas waqt bahut bahut kam,” adds an emotional depth to the story. Meanwhile, Vedang Raina, known for his role in The Archies, makes his presence felt in the background, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the poster. As soon as she posters were dropped, fans flooded the comments section with phrases like 'Cant Wait', 'They look gorgeous' and 'something exciting is on the way'. 

The film is produced by Dharma Productions and Alia’s own banner, Eternal Sunshine Productions, making this a personal and professional milestone for the actress. Alia wrapped up shooting for Jigra in early 2024, and since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting more details about the film. The recently certified teaser by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), with a runtime of 2 minutes and 52 seconds, has further intensified the anticipation. The teaser received a ‘UA’ rating, ensuring it will cater to a wide audience.

Originally scheduled for a September 27, 2024 release, Jigra has now been postponed to October 11, giving fans just a little more time to prepare for the excitement.

Apart from Jigra, Alia has a busy slate ahead. She is set to star in Love & War, a highly anticipated film by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, alongside her husband Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. Additionally, Alia will join the YRF spy universe in Alpha, sharing screen space with Sharvari Wagh.

As the release date of Jigra approaches, the film is already building momentum, promising to be one of the biggest releases of 2024. Fans are eagerly waiting to see what Alia Bhatt and Vasan Bala have in store for them.
