Is Shah Rukh Khan filming an important jail scene for King in Mumbai? Here’s what we know

Following the success of Pathaan and Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan continues to dominate, showing no signs of slowing down. He's currently immersed in filming his next major project, King, where he's back to throwing punches (scripted ones, of course). The action is unfolding within a jail setting, adding another layer of intrigue to his upcoming film.

Shah Rukh Khan has begun filming an intense jail sequence at Mumbai's Mehboob Studios for his upcoming project. “The scene is set in a foreign jail, where the protagonist takes on a gang of baddies. Since it forms a critical part of the narrative, Siddharth has flown in three international stunt experts to design the scene. On June 15, the crowd portions were canned with nearly 200 stunt performers," a source told the publication house.

Shah Rukh Khan, playing a skilled assassin, has been training intensely for his role in King. Director Siddharth Anand is aiming for a more raw and gritty portrayal of the actor. While fans anticipate a clash between SRK and Abhishek Bachchan, this particular shoot didn't include Junior B. Suhana Khan will make her debut alongside her father in King, which is currently filming in Bandra and is scheduled to complete the jail sequence by June 21.

King features Shah Rukh Khan as a skilled assassin navigating the criminal underworld. Alongside him, the cast includes Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Arshad Warsi, Abhay Verma, Raghav Juyal, and Anil Kapoor in significant roles. Suhana Khan portrays SRK's student, undergoing training for dangerous missions. Both father and daughter have undertaken rigorous physical training for their roles. Anil Kapoor plays SRK's handler and mentor, guiding him through the world of espionage and high-stakes action.

To ensure the stunts are spectacular, the filmmakers have enlisted international action directors. King is aiming for a release between October and December 2026, with a shooting schedule of over 100 days across various locations. Sachin-Jigar is composing the songs, and Anirudh will be responsible for the background score.
