'I'm not as short tempered as Madan' - Abhishek Duhan

Abhishek Duhan, the dashing actor speaks up and shares his first interview ever with India-Forums.

You are currently seen in the Sony TV Show Shubh Vivah as Madan, tell about the experience?

It is amazing and good, because I love the character Madan from the beginning. When I first gave the audition I was interested in this character and I wanted to play Madan. I remember after giving my audition I forgot to leave my number at the production house and10 days later I got a call asking why I did not leave my number and that the production house wanted to meet me. I got the role and was really happy, I waited almost 6 months for shooting to start and my friends and family told me to leave the show as I got many other offers but I believed in the role and that it was meant for me. Madan is a part of me somewhere - he is a true guy, open hearted, he gets angry but he cares for his family and loved ones.  

Can you mention some other shows you have done and how different is the role of Madan?

I did theater for 1 and half years. I then did a show on Star Plus 'Miilee', where I played the guy Kunal who hates Milee and I did the show for a year. After that I did a cameo at the end of the show 'Raja Ki Ayegi Baraat' on Star Plus and it was a 1 month cameo and then I got Shubh Vivah. 

Are you like Madan?

I dont get angry that quickly and have patience but if someone abuses me I keep hold on me and try to make the other understand, if nothing works out then I am definitely Madan (Laughs!). I am like Madan that I speak straight and I don't think before talking and everything comes from my heart. 

 

How's the chemistry between you and your onscreen wife Shafaq Naaz?

It is really good; she is a very great actress. Whenever we work together, we understand each other very good.

 

How is the camaraderie on the sets with everyone around?

It is superb and very good. Everybody loves each other, there is no bitching or bad talking about each other. I am not saying this as I'm giving an interview. Every day when we shoot, we get together, and have a great time - we laugh, share food with each other, it is amazing and we have a super director. 

 

You have also entered the Bollywood industry, tell about your venture?

I am doing a movie named 'Kaanch' with filmmaker Kalpana Lajmi. I went to Bhopal for shooting and will again return for next schedule of shooting. I am in talks for another movie, with big leads where I will play the second lead, and will leave for the shooting after finishing 'Kaanch' in October.

 

Your favourite movie?

Omkara, Kunwara Baap (it is an old movie) and recently released Shanghai. I love Paan Singh Tomar, the movie is amazing and I am a big fan of Irfan Khan and director Tigmanshu Dhulia. I love bollywood movies and I do watch a lot movies.

 

Your favourite actor/actress Bollywood?

Irfan Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui from movie New York and Manoj Bajpaiye. I like Kajol, Karishma and from new generation Deepika Padukone.  

Your favourite food: Bhagan ka bharta. I like home cooked meal, with chapatti. salad and lassi.

Your favourite colour: Blue and Black

Your favourite serial: Satyamev Jayate
