Aleeza Khan’s portrayal of Devika in Pyaar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan has grabbed attention. The show is produced by Prateek Sharma’s Studio LSD.
The actor is happy to be back on TV after a hiatus of a year. Her last appear was Maddam Sir. Aleeza, who plays a high-profile lawyer in the show, wants to explore more as an artist.
“As an actor, I'm adventurous; of course, every new show is a new journey. A new plot, new people, new characters, new friends, new family – there's so much love,” she smiles.
Sharing her reaction when Devika was offered her, she adds, “Being versatile is my forte and I love challenges. Also, my audiences’ expectations are high from my roles. Hence, I make sure to do justice to every character I portray. And here Devika is on point, the show is on point too and it's the right time, right place. I played a similar lawyer character in 2016, and now I'm making a comeback in 2023 with another. I'm quite excited.”
Aleeza shares a great bond with everyone on set, from the artists to the whole team. “But Ranveer Singh Malik (playing Rahul) and Sambhabana Mohanty (playing Damini) are the closest to me. Ranveer has been an old friend for the last few years – he's a great human being, sweet, humble, and down-to-earth; also, we're neighbours. Sambhabana is a wonderful actress and a lovely human being. I mostly share my screen and scenes with her. We have a strong bond, and she's just like me – honest, straightforward, smart, bold, and confident, I love her,” she says.
The TV industry has evolved over the years. And Aleeza opines, “I'm a 90s kid, an old school at heart. I had only done Saas-Bahu and Betiyaan kind of shows. So, adapting to the new bold trend in web content was quite challenging. I didn't get work for three years, not because of my performance, but because the web had only bold content to offer me. I don't support explicit content on screen, as it can make parents and families uncomfortable, especially in a country like India. It's good to show reality, but I don't resonate with it. However, I'm in a happy place now that my TV and daily soaps are back. I'm looking forward to it with a positive attitude and a great effort. A big thank you to all my lovely fans who have unconditionally loved me and all my characters. I'm sure they will love Devika in ‘Radha Mohan’ too. Loads of love to all my fans. Love you all forever.” She ends on a happy note.
