She played the role of Krishna in Star One's Betiyaan Apni Ya Paraaya
Dhan; a simple girl next door, who stood for truth and won many a
hearts. She is back once again this time as Vrinda, a chirpy girl who
keeps everyone on their toes; for whom her family is everything. Yes,
we are talking about none other than Gauri Nigudkar. Telly Buzz team talks to Gauri on her role in Mere Apne on 9X..
She is the 'laadli beti' of the family, the darling sister of the two brothers, who’s very naughty, and chirpy.
Do you relate to the character Vrinda?
I don’t really compare myself to any character. A character has to be played according to the Director's perfection, and that is what I aim for. Yes, I am talkative too, so I can say that i am similar to Vrinda in parts.
You played the lead role of Krishna in Betiyaan Apni Ya Paraaya Dhan, so what were your expectations for your next role?
I aimed to play a character not similar to Krishna. Krishna was more of the subdued, quiet, but mature girl. Here, I get to play an immature, childish and clumsy character. So this is a good learning curve, and I am glad that I have played both the sides of a coin perfectly.
Vrinda is in love with Vikram, who happens to be the son of Kashinath's enemy? Now what next?
Vrinda has surely started to like Vikram, but she is little confused. She is a small town girl, so she does not understand what to do now. Let's see how the track unwinds..
How is it to work with the star cast?
I love this working atmosphere; it's fun to work with Amit and Sid. It is a very professional, yet friendly environment, and that is the beauty.
Talk us thro' the bonding that the siblings of Mere Apne have on screen?
All the three of us are emotionally very close. In an era where much of sibling rivalry and fights are shown on TV, it is nice to see the closeness that Aditya, Shankar and Vrinda share. The entire family is bound by a strong chord of love and culture runs in their blood.
Do you have such sweet siblings in real life?
I don't have brothers like Aditya and Shankar, but i have a very loving sister. We are very close, and we spread warmth all over.
