Gulshan Devaiah on playing a grey character in 'Duranga 2': "It's challenging because...."

Indian actor Gulshan Devaiah, known for his dynamic roles and versatile acting skills, has once again left audiences in awe with his portrayal of the intriguing character Abhishek Bane in the second season of the popular series 'Duranga 2.' Spread across eight gripping episodes, the show continues to captivate viewers with its suspense and character-driven storytelling.

In 'Duranga 2,' Gulshan Devaiah steps into the shoes of Abhishek Bane, a character who embarks on a relentless quest to uncover the truth about his father's mysterious accomplice.

When asked about the nuances of playing a grey character like Abhishek, Gulshan Devaiah provides a thoughtful insight into the actor's mindset. Gulshan shares, "It's challenging because we have personal views, and when we are portraying something that goes against our beliefs or opinions, it can be difficult. For example, let's consider the scenario of playing a character who wants to murder someone in real life. In such cases, most people would find it hard to resonate with such actions, as they don't believe in killing other living beings. However, as an actor, you must accept the reality that what's written on the script is the character's reality."

The actor emphasizes the need to immerse oneself in the role, even if it contradicts one's own morals or ideologies.  As for whether he shares any similarities with Abhishek in real life, Gulshan is candid about the distinction between fiction and reality. He remarks, "I don't know because my life circumstances aren't the same as Abhishek's. I hope nobody ever must go through such situations. As much as I'd like to believe that I unconditionally love my family and would do anything for them, in those circumstances, I can't say for sure. I am not as brave, and I wouldn't have the courage to do something even remotely as dangerous as what Abhishek does."
