Govinda and Sunita welcome Ganpati home despite adultery and cruelty allegations sparking divorce rumours

Amid ongoing speculation about their marriage, actor Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja welcomed Ganpati Bappa home for Ganesh Chaturthi. The couple, who were recently in headlines due to reports of separation, stepped out together today and celebrated the festival with family, media and fans.

Earlier this year, reports claimed that Sunita had filed for divorce, citing adultery, cruelty and desertion under section 13 (1) (i), (ia), (ib) of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955. However, Govinda’s manager and daughter Tina Ahuja dismissed the claims, calling them unfounded. Despite clarifications, the buzz continued until last week when similar rumours resurfaced.

Choosing the festival as the occasion to address the chatter in their own way, Govinda and Sunita greeted paparazzi outside their home. They distributed sweets, posed with folded hands and joined in festive chants. Sunita wore a magenta saree with a gold border and traditional jewellery, while Govinda matched the celebratory mood in a berry-toned kurta pajama paired with a gold dupatta. Both appeared cheerful, smiling for photographs and interacting with the media.

The public appearance came as a quiet response to months of speculation, reinforcing their daughter Tina’s earlier statement that the couple is not separating.

On the professional side, Govinda is preparing for his big screen return with the film Duniyadari. This marks his first release since Rangeela Raja in 2019, where he played a double role. Sunita, meanwhile, has stepped into the digital space with her new YouTube channel. Her first vlog has already attracted a large number of viewers, adding another dimension to her work.

The family’s younger generation is also in focus. Govinda’s son Yashvardhan Ahuja is expected to make his Bollywood debut soon, a move closely watched by industry followers. With Govinda’s comeback, Sunita’s digital entry and Yashvardhan’s debut, the family seems set for a busy year ahead.
