There is something electric about the way Aanand L. Rai and Dhanush come together on screen. Their partnership first delivered Raanjhanaa in 2013, a film that didn’t just present a love story but shook up the idea of what romance in Hindi cinema could look like. At a time when rom-com templates ruled, this one had grit, madness, and an edge.
The collaboration returned years later with Atrangi Re, once again placing Dhanush in a space no one expected, and proving that his command over layered love stories is second to none.
Now, the duo is back with Tere Ishk Mein. Initially rumored to be a spiritual spin-off of Raanjhanaa, the film clearly has its own identity. India Forums got an early peek at the teaser before its official release tomorrow, and let’s just say, the excitement feels justified.
Dhanush in Full-Blown Lover’s Fury
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uECVeAXdfcw&list=RDuECVeAXdfcw&start_radio=1The teaser instantly evokes intrigue. There is a pulse, a throbbing intensity that instantly recalls Kundan from Raanjhanaa, but the world this time is altogether different. The setting feels bigger, sharper, and moodier. And at its center is Dhanush, radiating both longing and rage in equal measure.
This isn’t your garden-variety lover boy. There’s a storm behind his eyes and a restraint in his silence that makes you lean forward, curious about what he’s holding back. Dhanush has always had this rare gift: he can play vulnerability and ferocity in the same breath.
Here, that quality seems to be weaponized in the best possible way. The teaser hints at a character who is equal parts dreamer, fighter, and maybe even destroyer. And it works like a charm.
Kriti Sanon Without a Single Word
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBJ7MIEN5NI&list=RDIBJ7MIEN5NI&start_radio=1Then comes the surprise element: Kriti Sanon. The teaser gives her not a single line of dialogue, yet she’s unforgettable. This is a refreshing choice because it lets her eyes do all the heavy lifting.
And Sanon, who has matured into one of the most assured performers of her generation, nails it. There’s quiet fire in her presence, an elegance that doesn’t need words.
She appears as the calm in the middle of Dhanush’s storm, yet her chemistry with him sizzles from the very first glance. What’s remarkable is that she isn’t overshadowed even in a teaser dominated by Dhanush’s furious energy.
Instead, she holds her own with stillness, making viewers want to know her story just as much as his. It feels like a casting coup that brings two very different energies together to create one volatile mix.
Teasing, Not Telling
Unlike the majority of teasers that over-explain themselves, Tere Ishk Mein understands the power of mystery. It withholds more than it reveals, offering just enough to raise questions without giving away answers. Who are these characters? What pushes them to love this fiercely? What is the cost of this desire? These are the questions that linger, and that is exactly what a teaser should do.
It also helps that this year has shown an unexpected appetite for intense love stories. The re-release of Sanam Teri Kasam has crossed 50 crores, while Saiyaara stormed its way past 300 crores domestically.
The market for high-voltage romance is alive and kicking, and Aanand L. Rai seems perfectly positioned to once again stir emotions with his signature touch.
Known for narratives that often ruffle feathers, Rai appears to have found a middle ground here. The teaser suggests boldness without crossing into polarizing extremes. It’s a balance that could be the film’s biggest strength.
With Dhanush unleashing a performance that already feels magnetic, Kriti Sanon bringing power in silence, and Priyanshu Painyulli also set to play a key role, Tere Ishk Mein looks poised to be one of 2025’s most compelling love stories.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishna Kumar under T-Series, the film arrives in theatres on November 28, and if the teaser is anything to go by, we are in for a stormy, unforgettable ride.
The magic of Aanand L. Rai and Dhanush is back, and this time Kriti Sanon joins the storm. Tere Ishk Mein’s teaser crackles with intensity, passion and unanswered questions. With Dhanush in fierce form and Kriti commanding with silence, the stage is set for a love story unlike any other. But can it manage to outdo Saiyaara?
