Elliot Page files for divorce weeks after coming out as transgender

A few weeks ago, actor Elliot Page sent shockwaves everywhere as they came out as transgender through a post. And now, there is a bit more of a shock now as Page has filed for divorce from their wife Emma Portner.

Formerly known as Ellen Page, they wed Canadian dancer and choreographer Portner in early 2018. According to TMZ, Page filed legal papers in New York to end the three-year marriage.

Previously, Page came out as gay in 2014 being linked to Portner as early as 2017. 

Representatives for the pair have yet to comment on the news of their split.
