It was such a euphoric feeling:
Actress Deekshha Sonalkar Tham, who was last seen in Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye, is stepping into a very different role in her new web series Janaawar on Zee5. She plays Garima, the loving and supportive wife of SI Hemant, and for the first time in her career, she portrays a pregnant woman.
Talking about her role, Deekshha shared, “I play Garima, SI Hemant’s wife. She is heavily pregnant, extremely loving, and always supportive towards her husband. I would call her a green forest as a wife—calm, nurturing, and full of life. For the role, I wore airy cotton maxis, which are common in small-town households. Honestly, it has been my most comfortable costume so far.”
An Unforgettable Delivery Scene
For Deekshha, one particular moment while shooting will always remain close to her heart. The actress recalled her delivery scene, which became one of the most emotional experiences of her acting career.
“This was the first time I played a pregnant woman on screen. The day we shot my delivery scene, I held a newborn baby who was less than 24 hours old. The emotions just flowed naturally. The tears you see on screen are real. It was such a euphoric feeling that I will never forget,” she revealed with emotion.
Falling in Love with the Story
Janaawar – The Beast Within is a crime thriller that follows SI Hemant Kumar as he deals with cases that lead to shocking answers and unresolved mysteries. Deekshha shared how she felt connected to the project right from her audition.
“When I auditioned, I became curious about the whole story. Once I got to know the narrative, I instantly fell in love with it and knew I had to be part of it,” she said.

A Learning Experience
The actress also shared that the shoot schedule was tight and mostly on real locations, leaving little time off-camera. However, the energy on set kept everyone motivated.
Reflecting on her experience, Deekshha admitted that working in an OTT series felt very different compared to TV shows. “The style of acting changes with the medium. Since my last project was on television, I had to adjust my approach and emotions to suit the OTT format. It helped me discover a new side of myself as an actor, and that’s something I want to build on further.”
A Memorable Journey
Calling Janaawar an unforgettable journey, Deekshha concluded, “I hope the show leaves as strong an impact on viewers as it did on us while working on it.”
