Checks are by far the only pattern in the style books that has it’s roots going centuries back. It is also a pattern that has countless versions, from the chic classics to eccentric abstracts. The checkered pattern, an important part of every fashionista's wardrobe has taken many forms.
Here’s looking at the latter and how they have been adapted in different ways by our Television world fashion seers.
Fancy
Starting with something fancy. Mouni Roy's one shoulder dress, accentuated with checkered pattern formed by silver sequence. A coveted update to the cool classic trend.
Abstract
When the uniform pattern goes rogue this is what it looks like. A fun colourful splash of checks spread across a flared dress like the one worn by Sanaya Irani.
Window Pane
One for the standard checks. A constant square design created by black and white horizontal and vertical stripes on Surbhi Chandna's cotton jumpsuit.
Checkered Dreams
If checks were a part of a beautiful dream this is what it would look like.
Ethnic Checks
Checks have always been popular in the western garment world. This pattern has seldom made it's way into ethnic wear but here we have Drashti Dhami in a checkered pink and white saree. Making us want to ditch the pretty florals!
Our style desk really likes a mix of checks and florals, how would you like to see checks in a different form?
