Bhootni’s Navneet Malik recalls veteran actor Dharmendra RECOGNISING him: ‘Main tumhe dekhta rehta hoon’

For every actor, there comes a moment that feels straight out of a dream—the kind where the people you’ve grown up admiring recognize you for your work. Talented actor Navneet Malik, who is all set to live his dream as the young Sanjay Dutt in the upcoming film The Bhootnii, experienced just recently at a movie premiere, when he had a heartwarming and unexpected interaction with the legendary Dharmendra Ji.

“I was already excited about the premiere, but what happened there made it truly unforgettable,” Navneet shared, recalling the moment with childlike enthusiasm. “I saw Dharmendra Sir and couldn't hold back. I went up to him, folded my hands, and said, ‘Namaste Sir, I'm Navneet Malik.’”

To his surprise, Dharmendra Ji greeted him with genuine warmth. “He looked at me with that iconic smile and said, “Main tumhe dekhta rehta hoon. Aap bohot acha kaam kar raheho. God bless you, aur aise hi aage badhte raho.”

But what truly stunned Navneet was what followed. “Dharmendra Sir addded, ‘Instagram pe bhi dekhta hoontumhare videos aur photos.’ I was speechless. I never imagined someone like him would even know who I am, let alone follow my work. It was surreal.”

Reflecting on the experience, Navneet added, “Moments like these make you believe that your hard work is reaching the right eyes. When someone like Dharmendra Ji acknowledges you, it’s not just encouragement—it’s a blessing. I’ll carry his words with me forever.”

Talking about his role in the film, Navneet shared, “My character draws heavily from Sanjay Dutt’s real-life persona—his body language, energy, and that iconic style he’s known for. My character will be sharing the screen space with Mouni Roy. It’s not just a role—it’s a huge responsibility and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bring a legend like Sanjay Dutt alive on screen. I’m truly honoured.

The film, originally set for an earlier release, is now slated to hit theatres on 1st May 2025, as the makers are investing heavily in world-class VFX to elevate the visual experience. Led by Sanjay Dutt, the film also features an exciting ensemble cast including Mouni Roy, Sunny Singh, Palak Tiwari, Beyounick, and Aasif Khan. With its fresh concept and power-packed performances, The Bhootnii promises to be a cinematic treat worth waiting for.
