Rajkummar Rao's upcoming biopic, "Srikanth," is generating excitement among cinema enthusiasts. The film showcases Rajkummar portraying the role of visually impaired industrialist Srikant Bolla, with Jyotika portraying his teacher.
Interestingly, Jyotika initially turned down the offer to be a part of the film. It was only after her husband and Tamil superstar, Suriya, insisted that she reconsidered her decision and accepted the role.
Director Tushar Hiranandani revealed in an interview with News 18 that he envisioned Jyotika making her Bollywood comeback through his film. He admired her work in Tamil cinema and knew her familiarity with Hindi due to her previous Bollywood stint in "Doli Saja Ke Rakhna". He approached her for the project. However, Jyotika initially declined the offer.
It was Suriya's intervention that changed her mind. After reading the script, he encouraged her to take on the project. Following Suriya's persuasion, Jyotika reached out to Tushar the next day, expressing her desire to be a part of the film. The director was even invited to their home, where Jyotika officially confirmed her involvement in the movie.
Furthermore, Tushar revealed that Jyotika agreed to do another project, "Shaitaan," after "Srikanth." Casting director Mukesh Chhabra played a role in convincing her to take on the film.
"Srikanth" narrates the inspiring story of the visually impaired industrialist who defied all odds to achieve success. Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, the film is set to hit theaters on May 10, 2024, promising an impactful cinematic experience.
