Ayushmann’s Bala and Sunny Singh’s Ujda Chaman get into a ‘Bald Battle’

Ayushmann Khurrana's Bala and Sunny Singh's Ujda Chaman, both revolve around the issue of premature balding in men. Now, with two films based on a similar plotline, it will be nothing less than a battleground on the box office, or to be more precise, a ‘Bald Battle’.

Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety fame Sunny Singh is back on the block to entertain the audience, this time in a unique avatar. The trailer of his upcoming film titled Ujda Chaman released today morning. The two minutes long trailer gives you insight around the life of the protagonist, age 30, suffering from premature baldness.

Meanwhile, a month ago, the first trailer of Ayushmann Khurrana’s Bala dropped in, which interestingly revolves around the similar subject of premature balding. Like Ujda Chaman, this film too showcases the problem of baldness faced by men and the societal remarks associated with it. Now, with two films based on a similar plotline, it will be nothing less than a battleground on the box office, or to be more precise, a ‘Bald Battle’.

To add fuel to the already speculated competition between the two films, the makers of Ujda Chaman have taken a direct hit at Ayushmann’s Bala. Today morning, while sharing the first poster of the film, Sunny Singh wrote, “Takle ki pehli aur asli film,” which literally translates into “First and original film on a bald man.

Directed by Amar Kaushik, Bala revolves around the life of a man who is balding prematurely and how he copes with the situation. The film also narrates Bala's (played by Ayushmann) relationship with two women played by Yami Gautam and Bhumi Pednekar respectively in the film. The dark comedy is slated to release on 22 November 2019.

On the other hand, Ujda Chaman is based on the life of a Hindi lecturer, suffering from premature balding. After facing several rejections as a prospective groom because of his baldness, Chaman (played by Sunny in the film) hits rock bottom when an astrologer gives him a deadline to find himself a wife or remain a celibate forever.

This leads Chaman on a funny & emotional roller coaster ride of self-discovery and acceptance.
