Aryan Khan case: Key NCB witness Prabhakar Sail passes away

Narcotics Control Bureau’s (NCB) prime witness in the Aryan Khan drug case, Prabhakar Sail, passed away on April 1, Friday, as has been reported ANI. Sail's lawyer, Tushar Khandare stated that the cause of death is a heart attack.

“Sail died of a heart attack in his residence in Mahul area of Chembur yesterday,” Khandare said.

Sail was an independent witness and alleged NCB officials of extortion in regards to the drug case. An official went on to say that he had recorded his statement in October last year regarding the allegations levied by NCB officials in drug case involving Shah Rukh Khan's son, Aryan Khan.

As has been told by him, he had alleged that he overheard K P Gosavi, another witness in the cruise ship raid case, talking to Sam D'Souza over the phone demanding Rs 25 crore, which included Rs 8 crore for Sameer Wankhede.

Following the revelations that he made, he was provided with police protection by the city police. The cruise drug case was in the news for the longest time as SRK's son, 23 year old Aryan was arrested by the NCB following the raid on October 3.

The central agency had booked him under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act for possession, consumption, sale/purchase of banned drugs and conspiracy and abetment. Later, Bombay High Court granted him bail on October 28. The bail was granted along with 14 bail conditions, for him, as well as co-accused - Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha.

In the five-page order, HC had stated that they will have to surrender their passports to the NDPS court and will not be able to leave India without permission from the special court. In addition, the condition also stated that they will have to attend the NCB office each Friday between 11 am and 2 pm.
