Arjun Kapoor gets emotional as Anshula begins new chapter with Rohan Thakkar, remembers late mother Mona

Actor Arjun Kapoor shared an emotional post on Saturday as his sister Anshula Kapoor got engaged to her longtime boyfriend, writer Rohan Thakkar. Sharing photos from the intimate family celebration, Arjun expressed both pride and pain as he reflected on watching his sister step into a new chapter of her life.

Posting on Instagram, Arjun wrote, “I guess it’s time I start accepting that you’ll be leaving me and going your own way soon… it’s gonna break me a little, but I also know you’re going to be with someone who can make you smile… even if not quite as much as me… but he’ll still do a great job.”

The actor also paid a touching tribute to his late mother, Mona Shourie Kapoor. “I miss Mom even more now… but I know she’s watching over you, helping you find Rohan, and guiding you with her divine touch. Trust in her watchful eye and be happy,” he wrote. Arjun added, “From being my partner in crime to finding your forever partner, my Ansh is all grown up. All my love and warmest wishes to you both. Welcome to the family, @rohanthakkar1511… you’re in for a ride.”

The heartfelt post received warm reactions from friends and industry colleagues. Ayesha Shroff commented, “Congratulations kiddos,” while Pooja Hegde added, “Congratulations, loads of love and light to them.” Tahira Kashyap also wrote, “So sweet.”

Earlier in the day, Anshula had shared the first official pictures from her Gor Dhana ceremony, a Gujarati pre-wedding ritual similar to an engagement. The event was attended by family members including Boney Kapoor, Arjun, Janhvi, and Khushi Kapoor, along with Sonam Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor, Maheep Kapoor, and Shikhar Pahariya.

Anshula, daughter of producer Boney Kapoor and the late Mona Shourie Kapoor, went public with her relationship with Rohan in 2023. In July, she revealed that Rohan had proposed to her in New York’s Central Park. She was recently seen in the reality show The Traitors, hosted by Karan Johar. The engagement marks a new beginning for Anshula, surrounded by love, family, and memories of her mother.
