Jhanak, airing on Star Plus, has built a steady viewership since its launch in late 2023. The show initially featured Hiba Nawab and Krushal Ahuja in leading roles, drawing attention for its portrayal of a young woman navigating personal challenges and societal expectations. In mid-2025, the series underwent a generation leap that introduced a new storyline and fresh faces, including Arjit Taneja, Riya Sharma, and Twinkle Arora, stepping into central characters following the departure of the original cast.
While transitions like these are not uncommon in long-running serials, they are often accompanied by uncertainty. Recently, speculation emerged online suggesting that Jhanak may be concluding its run. These assumptions appeared shortly after promotions began for another show, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, which is set to occupy the 10:30 PM slot on the same network.
In response to these rumours, actor Arjit Taneja, who joined the show post-leap, addressed the matter directly on his official X account. Clarifying that Jhanak is not ending, he wrote: Seeing people celebrate #Jhanak going off air is sad. A show supports 150+ jobs. I know as fans there could be a lot of things one isn’t satisfied with but actors do their best with given content, but we don’t control it.
He continued: Lift each other up, don’t cheer lows. Also, show’s NOT ending, just shifting time slots. No show deserves negativity.

As shows undergo changes—be it cast updates, time slot adjustments, or plot developments—online reactions can sometimes turn critical. However, the actor’s comments draw attention to the larger impact such responses can have, especially on the many individuals involved in production, from technicians to creative teams.
Although the network has not officially announced the new time slot, reports indicate that Jhanak will continue airing, possibly in a later slot to accommodate programming changes. Meanwhile, those associated with the show remain focused on developing the post-leap narrative and retaining viewer engagement.
